Resumo: This paper presents a discussion and analysis about the construction of the meanings of real in the 1999 Brazilian documentary News from a Private War (Notícias de uma guerra particular), directed by João Moreira Salles and Kátia Lund. To deal with such project, I bring a theoretical framework that articulates the journalistic and documentary fields, and I search for reference in image/cinema theories. The methodological scheme used for the proposed analysis is the French Discourse Analysis. This small research works on two main axes of meanings: the real of the registration and the real of the registered. The axes are on the discursive formations that guide the analysis presented here, and also serve as hypotheses for the research problem.

Para hacer frente a tales proyectos, traigo un marco teórico que articula los campos periodístico y documental, y busco referencia en las teorías de imagen/cine. El esquema metodológico utilizado para el análisis es la propuesta francesa de Análisis del Discurso. Esta pequeña investigación trabaja sobre dos principales ejes de significados: lo real del registro y lo real de los registrados. Los ejes son las formaciones discursivas que orientan el análisis presentado aquí, y también sirven como hipótesis para el problema de investigación.O presente artigo apresenta uma discussão e análise a respeito da construção dos sentidos de verdade/real no documentário brasileiro de 1999 Notícias de uma guerra particular, dirigido por João Moreira Salles e Kátia Lund. Para dar conta de tal projeto, trago um marco teórico que articula os campos jornalístico e documental, e busco referencial nas teorias sobre imagem/cinema. O esquema metodológico utilizado para a análise proposta é o da Análise de Discurso de linha francesa. Esta pequena pesquisa trabalha sobre dois eixos principais de sentidos: a verdade do registro e a verdade do registrado.
