Resumo: Through this work I intend to analyze some connections among investment volume, managementways, and media exposition of contemporary male anatomies. From concepts related tocultural theories, such as representation, identity, difference, and masculinity, I meanto indicate the different ways how body has been lived and educated, inscribed andregistered within different rhythms of production and consumption, of pleasure andpain. Besides, I point out some representations which have along history shown malemusculature as a monstrous thing, specially body-builders and pit-boys; and also pointout the different ways of being so and of showing virility inside this anatomical spectacIe.

Apartir de conceitos pertinentes às teorias culturais, como representação, identidade, diferençae masculinidade, busco indicar as formas como o corpo vem sendo distintamentevivido e educado, inscrito e registrado, dentro de diferentes ritmos de produção e consumo,de prazer e dor.
