Resumo: The Cinema was the main attraction for the youth in Cajazeiras-PB during the early 20th Century. Not only the movie streaming was attractive, but mostly the meetings, the gathering and the enjoy the movie by the companion of the beloved ones. Otherwise, this gathering isn’t limited by the time of the exhibition nor the movie theater. The aim of this paper is to discuss this forms of sociability that are spread out in the city. The primary source of this analysis is the oral narratives of its citizens.

The primary source of this analysis is the oral narratives of its citizens.Desde as primeiras décadas do século XX, o cinema se configurou como uma das principais atrações presentes na cidade de Cajazeiras-PB. O público frequentador, para além do entretenimento que a fita em exibição proporcionava, encontrava nesses espaços uma oportunidade para travar encontros, para se relacionar e aproveitar a sessão junto da companhia de pessoas queridas. No entanto, esse estar e desfrutar da companhia do outro, não se restringia à duração da película (dimensão temporal), muito menos à sala de cinema (dimensão espacial).
