Resumo: Purpose: To identify the factors related to the use of credit cards by students of the Accounting Sciences course. Methodology: It was adopted the use of questionnaire data applied to students. The study sample comprises students in the face-to-face course modality of higher education institutions in the South, Southeast, Midwest and Northeast regions, with 946 respondents. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and ordered logit model. Results: It is evidenced that the majority of the respondents only use a credit card; financial education was negatively significant in the use of credit cards. Financial education is associated with respondents' optimism in financial decision-making. Also, interaction with parents about personal finances is associated with the great possibility of using credit card. Contributions of the Study: Become important to various stakeholders such as students, financial advisors, researchers, educational institutions, parents and other financial socialization agents, once helps to understand the factors that influence the use of credit card. Stakeholders can use the information obtained from this research to address issues related to financial management, financial well-being and bankruptcy, in order to obtain better global financial resources.

Metodología: Se adoptó el uso de datos de cuestionarios aplicados a los estudiantes. La muestra del estudio comprende a estudiantes en la modalidad presencial de las instituciones de enseñanza superior de la región Sur, Sudeste, Centro-Oeste y Nordeste, con 946 encuestados. Los datos fueron analizados por medio de la estadística descriptiva y modelo logit ordenado. Resultados: Se evidencia que la mayoría de los encuestados utilizan sólo una tarjeta de crédito; la educación financiera fue significante de forma negativa al uso de las tarjetas de crédito. La educación financiera está asociada con el optimismo de los encuestados en la toma de decisiones sobre asuntos financieros. También, la interacción con los padres sobre finanzas personales, está asociada con la gran posibilidad de uso de la tarjeta de crédito. Contribuciones del Estudio: Se vuelven importantes para diversas partes interesadas, tales como estudiantes, consultores financieros, investigadores, instituciones educativas, padres y otros agentes de la socialización financiera, una vez ayuda a comprender los factores que influyen en el uso de la tarjeta de crédito. Las partes interesadas pueden utilizar la información obtenida con esta investigación para abordar cuestiones relacionadas con la gestión financiera, el bienestar financiero y la quiebra para obtener mejores recursos financieros globales.Objetivo: Identificar os fatores relacionados ao uso de cartões de crédito pelos estudantes do curso de Ciências Contábeis. Metodologia: Adotou-se o uso de dados de questionários aplicados aos estudantes. A amostra do estudo compreende a estudantes na modalidade presencial das instituições de ensino superior da região Sul, Sudeste, Centro-Oeste e Nordeste, com 946 respondentes. Os dados foram analisados por meio da estatística descritiva e modelo logit ordenado. Resultados: Evidencia-se que a maioria dos respondentes utiliza apenas um cartão de crédito.  A educação financeira apresentou relação significativa e negativa ao uso dos cartões de créditos. A educação financeira está associada com o otimismo dos respondentes na tomada de decisão relativa a assuntos financeiros. Também, a interação com os pais sobre finanças pessoais, está associada ao aumento da probabilidade de os estudantes utilizarem o cartão de crédito. Contribuições do Estudo: Tornam-se importantes para diversas partes interessadas, tais como estudantes, consultores financeiros, pesquisadores, instituições educacionais, pais e outros agentes da socialização financeira, uma vez auxilia a compreender os fatores que influenciam o uso do cartão de crédito.
