Resumo: This study aims to present reflections on activities from the use of the poetic text in a 3º grade class of elementary school to a public school of Parelhas, RN. The motivation for the  development  of  this scientific  article  arose from  the  need  to  improvet the reading performance of students in this class. This is because the students had difficulties in the  skills and competencies required in the process of reading and disinterestedness by the literary  text.  This  work  is  grounded  in  authors  as  Abramovich (1989), rabbit (1991),  Aguiar (2001) and Zilberman (2005).

A motivação para o desenvolvimento deste artigo científico surgiu da necessidade de melhorar o desempenho na leitura dos estudantes dessa turma. Isso porque parte dos alunos apresentava dificuldades nashabilidades e competências exigidas no processo da leitura e desinteresse pelo texto literário.
