Resumo: | The purpose of this study was to translate and culturally adapt to the brazilian population a specific questionnaire for general evaluation of STUI, the ICIQ-FLUTS. An study of accuracy was carried out, where 28 volunteers, between 18 and 65 years old, participated. They were recruited at the municipal health unit of the Mirassol neighborhood, in the city of Natal, Rio Grande do Norte. The translation phase was performed by two bilingual individuals, brazilian, fluent in english (T1 and T2). It was originated to version one of the portuguese questionnaire (V1) that was retro translated into English and returned to the ICIQ group to be reviewed and performed an equivalence pre-test to develop the final version of the questionnaire (V2). V2 was submitted to the adaptation phase. The results obtained were that the mean age of the women evaluated was 50.4 years ± 12.9. 53.5% of the women were in the postmenopausal period, 64.2% had urinary incontinence-UI. Urinary stress urinary incontinence (SUI) (50%) to medium effort (42.8%) was the most frequent. The adapted version of ICIQ-FLUTS has been shown to be clear, easy to understand and apply by the population studied. It is concluded that the ICIQ-FLUTS is adapted to the Portuguese language and brazilian culture, and can be used in any brazilian about STUI study, after being validated in future studies. |

Foi realizado um estudo de acurácia, onde participaram 28 voluntárias, entre 18 e 65 anos. Foram recrutadas na unidade municipal de saúde do bairro Mirassol, na cidade de Natal, Rio Grande do Norte. A fase de tradução foi realizada por dois indivíduos bilíngües, brasileiros, fluente em inglês (T1 e T2). Deu-se origem à versão um do questionário em português (V1) que foi retro traduzida para o inglês e reenviada ao grupo ICIQ para ser revisada e realizado pré-teste de equivalência para o desenvolvimento da versão final do questionário (V2). A V2 foi submetida à fase de adaptação. Os resultados obtidos foram que a idade média das mulheres avaliadas foi de 50,4 anos ± 12,9. 53,5% das mulheres se encontravam no período pós-menopausal, 64,2% apresentavam incontinência urinária-IU. A incontinência urinária de esforço-IUE (50%) aos médios esforços (42,8%) foi a mais frequente. A versão adaptada do ICIQ-FLUTS mostrou-se ser clara, de fácil compreensão e aplicação pela população estudada.
