This article aims to study the body in Rudolf Laban and its relationship with the possibilities of creation in dance, which allows a reflection on the creative process and the articulation of his theory from this theme. Laban in his studies emphasized the importance of greater bodily awareness, through internal and external influences and a constant reflection on this knowledge, the personal discovery of its possibilities and limits and the creative process that culminates through this perception. In this way, this work may help the dance teacher to envision new ways of composing based on Laban's proposal. As methodology was adopted the bibliographic research based on books, scientific articles, monographs, which bring authors who discuss the subject matter. The theme of the body studied in Laban and in dialogue with other authors discussed here highlights this potentiality of experimentation and creation of the dance of each subject, which favors their own experience of awareness and body perception and awareness of this body.
