Resumo: The supply chain management, the postponement and demand management are strategic importance of operations for the economic success of organizations, as directly influence the production process. The aim of this paper is to analyze the influence of the postponement in a company with make-to-stock production system and seasonal demand. The research method used was the case study, data collection instruments were semi-structured interviews, document analysis and site visits. The research is based on the following issues: Demand Management which can be understood as a practice that allows you to manage and coordinate the supply chain in reverse, in which consumers trigger actions for the supply of products. The supply chain management is able to allow the aggregation of value, exceeding the expectations of consumers, developing a relationship with suppliers and customers win-win. The postponement strategy should suit the characteristics of the markets that require range of customized products and services, lower cost and higher quality, aiming to support decision making. The production make-to-stock system proves very interesting for organizations that are working in highly variable demand markets.

O objetivo deste artigo é analisar a influência da postergação em uma empresa com sistema produtivo make-to-stock e com demanda sazonal. O método de pesquisa utilizado foi o de estudo de caso, os instrumentos de coleta de dados foram entrevistas semiestruturada, análise documental e visitas in loco. A pesquisa está fundamentada nos seguintes assuntos: Gestão da demanda a qual pode ser entendida como uma prática que permite gerenciar e coordenar a cadeia de suprimentos no sentido inverso, na qual, os consumidores desencadeiam ações para o fornecimento de produtos. A gestão da cadeia de suprimentos é de poder permitir a agregação de valor, superando as expectativas dos consumidores finais, desenvolvendo um relacionamento com fornecedores e clientes do tipo ganha-ganha. A estratégia de postergação deve se adequar às características dos mercados que exigem variedade de produtos e serviços personalizados, de menor custo e maior qualidade, objetivando apoiar as tomadas de decisões.
