Barreiras de adoção de uma inovação: o emprego da metodologia scrum na MRS Logística S.A.

Resumo: O gerenciamento de projetos de softwares enfrenta o desafio de entregar soluções que atendam aos propósitos dos clientes. Historicamente, a metodologia tradicional Stage Gate foi a mais utilizada, porém para situações atuais em que se necessita de mais celeridade com ambientes em transformação, uma abordagem mais flexível se fez necessária. As metodologias ágeis surgiram como alternativas, merecendo destaque o SCRUM, possuindo uma maior valorização de interação entre desenvolvedores e clientes, e rápida adaptação às mudanças necessárias para atingir resultados. Por outro lado, o processo de adoção do SCRUM, entendida como uma inovação em processos, pode enfrentar barreiras que culminem no insucesso da adoção da metodologia. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar as barreiras de adoção desta inovação pela empresa ferroviária brasileira MRS Logística S.A.. Através de aplicação de entrevistas semi-estruturadas de um estudo de abordagem qualitativa, foi constatado que a adoção do SCRUM gerou benefícios, porém a ocorrência de barreiras influenciou negativamente a completa adoção da metodologia. Este estudo contribui na ampliação da discussão teórica e para a área prática de inovação, ao compreender as barreiras e propor orientações para a adoção da metodologia SCRUM.

Historically, the traditional Stage Gate methodology has been the most widely used, but for current situations in which more time is needed with changing environments, a more flexible approach has become necessary. Agile methodologies emerged as alternatives, highlighting the SCRUM, having a higher valuation of interaction between developers and clients, and rapid adaptation to the changes needed to achieve results. On the other hand, the process of adopting SCRUM, understood as a process innovation, may face barriers that lead to the failure to adopt the methodology. The objective of this study was to evaluate the barriers to the adoption of this innovation by the Brazilian railway company MRS Logistics. Through the application of semi-structured interviews of a qualitative approach, it was found that the adoption of SCRUM generated benefits, but the occurrence of barriers negatively influenced the complete adoption of the methodology. description O gerenciamento de projetos de softwares enfrenta o desafio de entregar soluções que atendam aos propósitos dos clientes. Historicamente, a metodologia tradicional Stage Gate foi a mais utilizada, porém para situações atuais em que se necessita de mais celeridade com ambientes em transformação, uma abordagem mais flexível se fez necessária. As metodologias ágeis surgiram como alternativas, merecendo destaque o SCRUM, possuindo uma maior valorização de interação entre desenvolvedores e clientes, e rápida adaptação às mudanças necessárias para atingir resultados. Por outro lado, o processo de adoção do SCRUM, entendida como uma inovação em processos, pode enfrentar barreiras que culminem no insucesso da adoção da metodologia. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar as barreiras de adoção desta inovação pela empresa ferroviária brasileira MRS Logística S.A.. Através de aplicação de entrevistas semi-estruturadas de um estudo de abordagem qualitativa, foi constatado que a adoção do SCRUM gerou benefícios, porém a ocorrência de barreiras influenciou negativamente a completa adoção da metodologia. Este estudo contribui na ampliação da discussão teórica e para a área prática de inovação, ao compreender as barreiras e propor orientações para a adoção da metodologia SCRUM.
