Peasant popular feminism: fight integration

Resumo: In recent years, peasant women in Brazil and Latin America have created a concept to talk about their struggles and their feminism. While popular peasant feminism was constructed by peasant women in Latin America and the Caribbean, this article depicts its elements by examining the Peasant Women's Movement (Movimento de Mulheres Camponesas, MMC) in Brazil. Our objectives here are to reflect on whether women can build feminism through diverse agendas rather than only those historically associated with feminism and its current challenges, and to analyze how popular peasant feminism reflects achievements that extend beyond women. This article is derived from the author's doctoral dissertation, and utilizes the same methods, namely participatory research, documentary analysis of minutes from meetings of the MMC and of women participating in the Latin American Coordination of Rural Organizations (CLOC), meeting resolutions, and event reports. While the article focuses on the work of the MMC, the inherent relationship between the MMC and CLOC in establishing popular peasant feminism compels us to examine their trajectories together. We can affirm that for peasant women, being a feminist was a process of learning about feminism and recognizing oneself that was mediated by various struggles which were not always socially recognized as feminism.

El Feminismo Popular Campesino es una construcción de las mujeres campesinas en América Latina y el Caribe. Sin embargo, este artículo buscó presentar sus elementos a partir del estudio de la experiencia en Brasil del Movimento de Mulheres Camponesas (MMC). Los objetivos de este trabajo fueron: reflexionar sobre la posibilidad de que las mujeres construyan el feminismo desde diferentes agendas de lucha y no solo aquellas históricamente asociadas a la lucha feminista y los desafíos actuales de este proceso, y en la medida en que se presenten estos propósitos , buscamos analizar cómo este feminismo se refleja en logros más allá de las mujeres. El contenido de este artículo es parte de lo presentado en la tesis doctoral de la autora, llevando consigo la metodología que utilizó en ese trabajo: investigación participativa, así como análisis documental de actas de reuniones del MMC, encuentros de mujeres de la Cloc (Coordinadora Latinoamericana de Organizaciones del Campo), actas de reuniones e informes de eventos. El artículo se centra en la construcción realizada por el MMC, sin embargo, la relación intrínseca entre el MMC y el Cloc en la construcción del Feminismo Popular Campesino nos impulsa a trazar la trayectoria de uno trayendo al otro. Como resultado, es posible afirmar que ser feminista para las mujeres campesinas fue un proceso de conocimiento del feminismo y de autorreconocimiento, mediado por diversas luchas no siempre socialmente reconocidas como lucha feminista.As camponesas no Brasil e na América Latina têm construído nos últimos anos um conceito para falar sobre suas lutas e seu feminismo. O Feminismo Camponês Popular é uma construção das camponesas da América Latina e do Caribe. Entretanto, este artigo buscou apresentar seus elementos a partir do estudo da experiência no Brasil do Movimento de Mulheres Camponesas (MMC). Os objetivos deste trabalho foram: refletir sobre a possibilidade de as mulheres construírem o feminismo a partir de diversas pautas de luta e não apenas as historicamente associadas à luta feminista e os desafios atuais desse processo, e, na medida em que se apresentam esses propósitos, procuramos analisar como esse feminismo reflete em conquistas além das mulheres. O conteúdo deste artigo é parte do que foi apresentado na tese de doutorado da autora, carregando consigo a metodologia por ela empregada no referido trabalho: a pesquisa participante, também a análise documental de atas de reuniões do MMC, reuniões das mulheres da Cloc (Coordinadora Latinoamericana de Organizaciones del Campo), declarações de encontros e relatórios de eventos. O artigo tem como foco a construção realizada pelo MMC, entretanto, a intrínseca relação entre o MMC e a Cloc na construção do Feminismo Camponês Popular nos impele a traçar a trajetória de um trazer a outra.
