The relevance of Ater services in the implementation of Pronaf in the municipality of Unaí – MG: A relevância dos serviços de Ater na execução do Pronaf no município de Unaí – MG

This study propose evaluate the credit-taking process, its application and the results of Pronaf credit in the city of Unaí/MG, considering the problems raised in the literature about Pronaf execution, using quantitative and qualitative approaches. The data were collected through a questionnaire applied to family farmers and through interviews with the representatives of Ater companies and Banco do Brasil. Among the main results from the point of view of the family farmers, it was observed that: difficulties persist in the presentation of documentation; the process is bureaucratic, and there are delays in the release of resources; the Ater agents have been working to develop financially feasible projects that meet the needs and the requirements of the financial agent, but Ater’s services were insufficient to carry out the projects; there are deficiencies in the communication between the official financial agent and the family farmers, being more in charge of the Ater to spread the Program and the conditions of the credit; the credit conditions were considered satisfactory, however, it is suggested to review the ranges of values practiced. Finally, it was found that there is a local consensus that the Pronaf generates positive financial results for beneficiaries who can access the resource, and contributes to the improvement of the quality of life of families in the field.
