This work evaluated the socioenvironmental impacts caused by the sand extraction activity caused by the sand extraction activity, which is used as raw material in the civil construction industry, in an enterprise licensed in the São Cristóvão (SE) County. This municipality is part of the Continental Surface Formations, Barreiras Formation (Cenozoic), which results in the raw material abundance and in the concentration of enterprises licensed to mine sand in the Barreiras Formation. The data collected in this work allowed to diagnose the main socioenvironmental impacts generated in the Boa Esperança Deposit, through the identification and Evaluation of Environmental Impacts (AIA), using the Checklist method. Alteration of topography, removal of vegetation cover and dust generation are some of the main socioenvironmental impacts observed in the study area. The finding of socioenvironmental impacts, such as those mentioned above in the Boa Esperança Deposit, allowed us to conclude that, in the study area and in a large part of the projects located in São Cristóvão County, mining activities are conducted in disregard of the basic technical standards and pertinent legislation. This has contributed to the degradation of the local environment and consequently affects the regional environment.
