Resumo: The practice in Biology Teaching with the teacher as the protagonist in facing the difficulties allows for greater interaction between teacher and student and, as a consequence, can enhance the learning of students. This article addresses a field research on the difficulties in developing practical classes in Biology teaching with a teacher from a public school in Tobias Barreto-SE. Having as general objective to understand the possibilities and difficulties in the development of practical classes in Biology. The methodology of this article has a qualitative approach and used the semi-structured interview as a data collection instrument. The analysis was performed using descriptive categories. According to the results obtained in this research, it was possible to verify that, for the interviewed professor, the possibility of putting himself as a protagonist in facing the difficulties in the practice of Biology Teaching allows a greater reflection on knowing how to be and knowing how to do. Thus, it was possible to verify that practical classes are of great relevance in the teaching-learning process in Biology Teaching, making learning more pleasurable, as they motivate students to think and actively participate in the construction of their knowledge.

Esse artigo aborda uma pesquisa de campo sobre as dificuldades no desenvolvimento de aulas práticas no ensino de Biologia com um docente de uma escola pública de Tobias Barreto-SE. Tendo como objetivo geral compreender as possibilidades e dificuldades no desenvolvimento de aulas práticas de Biologia. A metodologia do presente artigo possui uma abordagem qualitativa e utilizou a entrevista semiestruturada como instrumento de coleta de dados. A análise foi realizada através de categorias descritivas. De acordo com os resultados obtidos nessa pesquisa, foi possível constatar que para o professor entrevistado a possibilidade de se colocar como um protagonista no enfrentamento das dificuldades na prática no Ensino de Biologia possibilita uma maior reflexão sobre o saber ser e o saber fazer.
