Análise do perfil epidemiológico dos acidentes motociclísticos e automobilísticos no estado de Sergipe no período de 2017 - 2021

Resumo: Introduction: Automobile and motorcycle road transport accidents are responsible for the main causes of mortality from external causes worldwide, primarily among young adults, being a significant factor of morbidity, therefore, it is considered an important public health problem. Objective: To identify the epidemiology of hospitalizations due to the aforementioned accidents, detailing in relation to sex and age. Method: The present study has an epidemiological, descriptive, retrospective and quantitative character. Data were collected from the databases of the Ministry of Health – Health Information (TABNET), available from the Department of Informatics of the Unified Health System (DATASUS). In addition, articles were selected from the Pubmed database. Theoretical framework: W orldwide, these accidents represent the eighth cause of mortality and about 1.35 million individuals die each year from traffic accidents and more than 90% of these deaths occur in developing countries. In addition, these accidents are underreported, which makes it difficult to measure their number in a given locality. Results: There were 6,989 hospitalizations for automobile and motorcycle accidents between 2017 and 2021 in patients aged 20 to 59 years in Sergipe, affecting 5,816 men and 1,210 women. The involvement of 6,775 motorcycle accidents and 214 automobile accidents was demonstrated. Discussion: These accidents occur more commonly in young adults, men and motorcyclists, who are more exposed to risk factors, generating injuries and expenses to the health sector. Conclusion: The high manifestation of traffic accidents in young adults, especially motorcyclists and males, raises the need to identify risk factors, causes, most common injuries, preventive measures and expenses to the health sector, in order to reduce morbidity and mortality. In addition, establish prevention, treatment and rehabilitation measures.

Objetivo: Identificar a epidemiologia das internações pelos acidentes mencionados, detalhando em relação ao sexo e idade. Método: O presente estudo possui caráter epidemiológico, descritivo, retrospectivo e quantitativo. Foram coletados dados nas bases de dados do Ministério da Saúde – Informações de Saúde (TABNET), disponíveis pelo Departamento de Informática do Sistema Único de Saúde (DATASUS). Além disso, foram selecionados artigos na base de dados Pubmed. Referencial teórico: Mundialmente, esses acidentes representam a oitava causa de mortalidade e cerca de 1,35 milhão de indivíduos morrem a cada ano pelos acidentes de trânsito e mais de 90% dessas mortes ocorrem nos países em desenvolvimento. Ademais, esses acidentes são subnotificados, o que dificulta mensurar sua quantidade em uma determinada localidade. Resultados: Foram registradas 6.989 internações por acidentes automobilísticos e motociclísticos, entre 2017 e 2021, em pacientes de 20 a 59 anos em Sergipe, acometendo 5.816 homens e 1.210 mulheres. Foi demonstrado o envolvimento de 6.775 acidentes motociclísticos e 214 automobilísticos. Discussão: Esses acidentes ocorrem de forma mais comum em adultos jovens, homens e motociclistas, que se expõem mais aos fatores de risco, gerando lesões e gastos ao setor de saúde. Conclusão: A elevada manifestação de acidentes de trânsito em adultos jovens, principalmente motociclísticos e do sexo masculino suscita a necessidade em identificar os fatores de risco, causas, lesões mais comuns, medidas preventivas e gastos ao setor de saúde, no intuito de diminuir a morbimortalidade.
