Storytelling e UX Writing aplicados ao desenvolvimento de jogos digitais educacionais

Resumo: | Good stories explore the human imaginary and may convey fundamental lessons. Who tells a story, narrates an experience (fictional or not), and who listens to it articulates in the form of an experience, a dynamic process known as storytelling (RAINER, 2021). Digital games, in this context, may serve as the basis to present these good stories, and as potential allies to learning (ALVES, 2015). However, for experience to be meaningful and offers an opening (BIESTA, 2009) to the student’s learning, it is necessary to have special care with the presentation of the content developed to the game—especially with the verbal information, core communication format present in user interaction with the software (PODMAJERSKY, 2019). The main objective of this work was to design the script for a digital game grounded in the storytelling process and techniques from UX Writing, User Experience’s field that is concerned with words. The intention is to guide verbal communication development in digital games projects with educational purposes. The methodological course adopted by the research involved a case study with the following execution phases: definition of the theme and target audience, Voice Chart filling (PODMAJERSKY, 2019), script elaboration, prototype building, and first impressions gathered from some students who experienced the elaborated prototype. The chosen educational theme seeks to contribute to the Computing field students’ learning concerning the academic writing format. The combination of storytelling with UX Writing in this game project helped to build a unified and conversational communication, connected to the developed story and with its own voice and tone that enhance player engagement with the experience offered. |

Quem conta uma história, narra uma experiência (ficcional ou não), e quem a ouve, articula na forma de uma experiência, de um processo dinâmico conhecido como storytelling (RAINER, 2021). Os jogos digitais, neste contexto, podem servir como base para a apresentação dessas boas histórias e como potenciais aliados no aprendizado (ALVES, 2015). Entretanto, para que a experiência seja significativa e ofereça abertura (BIESTA, 2009) para a aprendizagem do aluno, é necessário ter um cuidado especial com a apresentação do conteúdo pensado para o jogo — especialmente com as informações verbais, formato de comunicação mais presente na interação entre o usuário e um software (PODMAJERSKY, 2019). Este trabalho teve como objetivo central projetar o roteiro de um jogo digital fundamentado no processo de storytelling e em técnicas de UX Writing, a área da Experiência do Usuário que se preocupa com as palavras. A intenção é prover orientação para a construção da comunicação verbal em projetos de jogos digitais com finalidade educacional. O percurso metodológico adotado pela pesquisa envolveu um estudo de caso que contou com as seguintes fases de execução: definição do tema e público-alvo do jogo, preenchimento do Quadro de Voz (PODMAJERSKY, 2019), elaboração do roteiro, construção do protótipo e a coleta das impressões iniciais de alguns alunos que experimentaram o protótipo elaborado. O tema educacional escolhido busca contribuir para o aprendizado dos alunos da área de Computação quanto ao formato da escrita acadêmica.
