The job market demands adaptations and development from professionals, due to the wide number of activities to be performed and organizational changes. Students who are attending higher education seek to enter the job market, complement their learning and develop their professional career, through an internship that is a way of achieving these goals. To this end, a literature review was made on the topic in which the internship was found to be an important source of obtaining knowledge and maturity, as well as a great facilitator for insertion in the labor market. Subsequently, the research was defined as descriptive and quantitative, in which 113 valid questionnaires were applied to students of the Administration Course at the Federal University of Sergipe. It was noted that one of the reasons for participating in this type of internship was to obtain income to maintain or help support the home. In addition, most of the students stated that during the internship there was a good or excellent proximity between the theory learned at the University and the practice of the internship, stressing, therefore, that the supervised non-mandatory internship provides an opportunity for the student, being able to train him in the chosen profession and assist him financially at some stage during the course of his university course, also promoting insertion in the job market.
