Resumo: Equine therapy is an intervention that enables health and rehabilitation professionals to achieve different goals, including improving participation in recreation and leisure activities. This study aimed to characterize the participation of Lagarto - SE Equotherapy Center children and adolescents in recreation and leisure activities. This is a cross-sectional study that used CAPE (Children's Assessment of Participation and Enjoyment) as a measure of the participation in leisure and recreation activities. Nine practitioners participated in this study. It was concluded that the adolescents had a greater diversity of participation in leisure and recreation activities, compared to children. However, children and adolescents presented greater difficulties in participating in group activities.

O estudo objetivou caracterizar a participação de crianças e adolescentes do Centro de Equoterapia de Lagarto-SE nas atividades de recreação e lazer. Trata- se de estudo descritivo, de corte transversal que utilizou o instrumento CAPE (Children’s Assessment of Participation and Enjoyment) como medida de desfecho da participação em atividades de recreação e lazer com nove praticantes do centro de equoterapia. Conclui – se que os adolescentes possuem maior diversidade de participação nas atividades de lazer e recreação, comparados com as crianças.
