Consumo alimentar de adolescentes de uma escola no município de Itabaiana-Sergipe

Resumo: OBJECTIVE: To characterize the food consumption of adolescents from a private school in the city of Itabaiana, Sergipe. METHODS: The study design was descriptive and transversal. Thirty-three adolescentes participated in the study (individuals aged 10 to 17 years) of both sexes. The data collection occurred from January to February 2017. It was utilized the Food and Nutrition Surveillance System form to the evaluate food consumption. The collection was performed in an individualized and reserved manner. The collected data was tabulated in the Microsoft Office Excel® software. The analyzes were performed with the support of the Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS), version 20.0. RESULTS: Through the analysis of the feed quality of the adolescentes, it was observed that 43 (68.2%) presented a diet considered as healthy, and 20 (31.8%) presented a diet not healthy. Among adolescents, 41 (65.1%) had meals watching TV, using the computer and/or cell phone. In relation to the food consumption, it was observed that 56 (88.9%) consumed beans, 34 (54%) fresh fruits, 36 (57.1%) vegetables and/or legume, 26 (41.3%) hamburgers and/or embedded, 42 (66.7%) had sweetened drinks, 23 (36.5%) consumed instant noodles, salt snacks and 42 (66.7%) stuffed biscuits, candies or sweets. CONCLUSION: The results show the need to carry out educational activities of awareness and demonstration of the harm caused by having meals in front of the media. As well as actions those stimulate healthy eating and reducection of the consumption of processed foods.

A coleta de dados ocorreu no período janeiro a fevereiro de 2017. Foi utilizado o formulário do Sistema de Vigilância Alimentar e Nutricional para avaliação do consumo alimentar. A coleta foi realizada, de forma individualizada e reservada. Os dados coletados foram tabulados no software Microsoft Office Excel®. As análises foram realizadas com o auxílio do programa Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS), versão 20.0. RESULTADOS: Através da análise da qualidade da alimentação dos adolescentes, observou-se que 43 (68,2%) apresentaram uma alimentação considerada saudável, e 20 (31,8%) apresentou um alimentação não saudável. Entre os adolescentes 41 (65,1%) realizam refeições assistindo TV, mexendo no computador e/ou celular. Em relação ao consumo alimentar, observou-se que 56 (88,9%) consumiam feijão, 34 (54%) frutas frescas, 36 (57,1%) verduras e/ou legumes, 26 (41,3%) hambúrguer e/ou embutidos, 42 (66,7%) ingeriam bebidas adoçadas, 23 (36,5%) consumiam macarrão instantâneo, salgadinho de pacote ou biscoito salgado e 42(66,7%) biscoito recheado, doces ou guloseimas. CONCLUSÃO: Os resultados demostram a necessidade da realização de atividades educativas de conscientização e demonstração dos malefícios causados pela realização das refeições em frente aos meios de comunicação.
