The concept of multispecies family has become increasingly relevant for the Brazilian legislator, given the existence of affection in the relationships between human beings and animals, in which pets have come to be recognized as integral members of families. Thus, the present work proposes to investigate how the legal provision of shared custody of pets will be established, in addition to visitation and provision of food, after the rupture of the marital bond, through the legal analysis of Bill nº 4375/2021, of authored by Federal Deputy Chiquinho Brazão (Avante/RJ). The adopted methodology was deductive, based on qualitative research and theoretical thesis, with the use of diversified bibliographic material in books, journal articles, theses, bills and jurisprudence. In the end, it was concluded that the sanctioning of Bill nº 4375/2021 will be able to ensure legal certainty in the demands that deal with shared custody of pets.
