The Historical Archaeology as a science still young, that proposes study many subjects, among them the sloops were small boats, and also contributed to the social and economic dynamics in the city of Laranjeiras-SE. These boats carrying differents products like coconut, salt, corn, sugar cane, sugar and others from Laranjeiras as well the many places known as Freguesia de Socorro (1530-1832), Santo Amaro das Brotas, Maruim and neighboring states such as Bahia. The city of Laranjeiras was the stage of economic heyday in state Sergipe XX century, and was recognized as cradle cultural, ideological, economic and port. The sloops were recorded by local historiography, and still remain alive in memories of local community. This research aimed detect and analyze this ship, and your relationship with social and economic of Laranjeiras, the reason for share in two stages: field and laboratory. In field was applied questionnaires that dated back to memory about the sloops that region, as well your functionality too (19th and 20th century). In laboratory did surveys and reflections about studies of themes like port, maritime, naval archaeology and Laranjeiras history. As a result, the sloops were boats that contributed to the outflow of products and served as transport for people, including slaves. In analysis the models that passed by Laranjeiras were, launch, bargue, and fishing boat.
