The objective of this article was to analyze and propose organizational processes that are amenable to improvement for the Management of the Universidade Federal de Sergipe- Campus Universitário Prof. Alberto Carvalho. To do so, a qualitative research of the research-action type was carried out in which the researcher participates in a collaborative and participatory way with other participants of her object of study. The data collection techniques used were simple observation and semi-structured interviews. As a result, it was identified through process mapping that the processes related to the institutional communication of the campus were critical, whose main problems consisted of the lack of action planning focused on institutional communication. Thus, the former Sector of Protocol and Communication (SECOM) and the current Secretariat of Communication (SECOMI) was the object of study of this article. We conclude that Process Management plays an important role in improving organizational processes, because understanding how the process works is key to continuous process improvement.
