Aumento do uso de psicofármacos durante a Pandemia de COVID 19 : revisão integrativa

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic cases, which cause the SARS CoV-2 virus, measures taken were an end to contain the number and increase the number of infected people, such as social isolation and protective methods. Due to these factors, we consider that it was a period of great mental and physical importance, leading to a diagnosis of anxiety and depression, which increased the use of psychotropic drugs. The use of psychoactive substances or health psychotropic drugs can cause dependence and generate serious side effects, in addition to representing health risks in the social and economic spheres. Given the above, the objective of this study is to present an integrative review on the increase in the use of psychotropic drugs during the pandemic period. After searching the literature in the SciELO, Arca and Science Direct databases, six articles were selected and served as a basis to verify that, in fact, there was an increase in the use of psychotropic drugs related to mental illnesses resulting from the pandemic. Finally, it was suggested that the problems related to the use of this class of drugs be mitigated through medical, pharmacotherapeutic and psychologists in psychosocial support centers.
