The Covid-19 pandemic triggered many social transformations, and the measures taken to inhibit the spread of the virus brought serious social, political and economic problems for the entire population, culminating in the expansion of the use of psychotropic drugs, this increase occurred irregularly in the time and space in the Brazilian territory, for regions with the worst social conditions had a greater increase in the use of psychotropic drugs, demonstrating that access to health services was fundamental for lower rates of use of these drugs. Therefore, this research aims to identify what the increase in the use of psychotropic drugs reveals about the state of mental health of adolescents during the Covid-19 pandemic, since, during the pandemic, attention was focused on the most affected groups in the serious state of the disease and in the deaths caused by the complications of Covid-19. This work was constituted as an integrative review that seeks to answer the problem listed in the objective. The growth in the use of anxiolytics and antidepressants reveals the high rates of depression and anxiety among adolescents, caused by various forms of violence while away from school. Identifying public policies that were neglected during the pandemic and should reach the adolescent public, thus reducing their psychic effects in the post-pandemic period.
