Avaliação somatossensorial pós Acidente Vascular Encefálico (AVE): correlações com os déficits motores

Objective: to investigate the distribution of somatossensoriais deficits post cerebrovascular accident (AVE) and correlate them to the motor function of the upper limb. Methods: the sample consisted with 9 individuals in the subacute phase after the stroke, the somatosensory evaluation was performed through the Nottingham Sensory Assessment, and for the evaluation of the motor function was used the section of the motor function for the upper member of the Fulg - Meyer scale. Continuous variables were expressed as mean and standard deviation and correlations for simple linear regression using the Pearson correlation coefficient. Results: This study shows changes in somatosensory system with prevalence rates of 55.56% tactile and proprioceptive sensitivity and 66.67% at 88.89% esterognosia on discrimination between 2 points. Weak correlations were found between motor function and deficits in stereognosis (r = 0.29) and deficits on discrimination between two points (rs = 0.19), and regular motor score correlations with changes in tactile sensitivity (r = 0.56) and proprioceptive (r = 0.57). Conclusion: in this study changes in all modes somatossensoriais were common in patients in the subacute phase post stroke and even if these sensory changes were not strongly related to disturbance light engines, identification and recognition of sensory deficits in the post- stroke are required for management of neurofuncional rehabilitation.
