Educação física, esporte e mídia : uma discussão na formação de professores de Educação Física da Universidade Federal de Sergipe

Much has been discussed about media culture and its relationship with Physical Education and Sport. In this sense, this work aims to draw a relationship of modernity with sports and the media, as well as the use of media and information and communication technologies (ICT) in educational contexts. Universities and their curricula are adapting to the new challenges of training, linked to the media-education issue, so that people can set a critical eye on media messages. The objective of this monograph was to analyze the influence of the discipline "Physical Education, Sports and Media" in the training of Physical Education teachers of the Federal University of Sergipe and its relations with the culture of the media. This research is descriptive in nature, using the qualitative approach that focuses on the subjective character of the analyzed object. Data were collected through the field diary, participant observation, interviews and questionnaires. The data were organized into six thematic categories: "Physical Education, Sports and Media"; "Media: The Gaze of the Subject"; "The Symbolic Power of the Media"; "Field of Action"; "Sport and Media"; and "Academic Training". As results, we perceive the media as having a symbolic power, a power that can influence individuals; the discipline contributes to provide clarification on the subject, allowing the broadening of the look and better understanding of the discourses propagated by the media; reflection on the training of graduates in view of the importance of this dimension of media / ICT in training
