A neurociência como ferramenta para o ensino de ciências e biologia

Resumo: Science and Biology teaching is characterized by emphasis on genetics, evolution issues and living beings in general, besides to help students understand their role in environment. In order to support the knowledge construction in the classroom, the teacher can use different methods and approaches, such as traditional teaching, active learning and didactic tools like TV, DVD, datashow, conceptual map, and others. However, to choose the best strategy to teach, it is necessary not only to know the students profile but also to understand how these approaches affect the nervous system (NS) in terms of improving learning. Neuroscience is the scientific study of the NS and it plays a major role to understand how the brain works and how to use this knowledge, associated with psychology and education, to improve teaching / learning process. In this context, the present study aimed to perform a literature review in order to understand how the neuroscience can be used in the classroom to improve teaching-learning process. Thus, information about Science and Biology teaching approaches, teaching-learning process, neuroscience and neuroscience applied to education are discussed. The present research can help Science and Biology teachers to upgrade their knowledge about neuroeducation and give them some information that can be used to improve the quality teaching and learning methods.

Para auxiliar na construção desses conhecimentos em sala de aula, o professor dispõe de metodologias como a tradicional, a ativa e ferramentas didáticas como TV, DVD, datashow, mapa conceitual, e outros. No entanto para que o docente escolha a melhor estratégia para ministrar sua aula, é necessário além de conhecer o perfil dos alunos, saber como essas ferramentas agem no sistema nervoso (SN) no que diz respeito a melhoria do aprendizado. A neurociência é a ciência que estuda o SN e desempenha um papel de grande importância, tanto para entender sobre o funcionamento do cérebro, quanto para utilizar essas informações, associadas à psicologia e a educação, no processo de ensino/aprendizagem. Baseado nisso, o presente trabalho objetivou fazer um levantamento bibliográfico sobre a neurociência e como esta pode ser utilizada como ferramenta em sala de aula para melhorar o processo de ensino aprendizagem. Como resultados, são apresentadas abordagens sobre ensino de Ciências e Biologia, processo de ensino e aprendizagem, Neurociência e Neurociência aplicada à educação.
