Assistência farmacêutica no município de Lagarto/SE: diagnóstico situacional e perspectivas

Introduction: In the context of health problems it is common for medicine to be considered as one of the main therapeutic tools for health maintenance and / or recovery. Thus, promoting its rational use becomes an essential tool to achieve this maintenance / reestablishment of health. Pharmaceutical Assistance is defined as a set of practices oriented to individual and collective health, having the medicine as an essential input. To do so, it is necessary to evaluate the current stage in which it is found and to propose improvements to guarantee services. Objective: To diagnose the current situation of Pharmaceutical Assistance in the municipality of Lagarto / SE. Method: A descriptive, cross - sectional qualitative study carried out in the period from December / 2017 to April / 2018. The data were collected through the application of questionnaires addressed to the professionals responsible for Pharmaceutical Assistance in the Municipal Health Department, and the use of a self-assessment tool for Pharmaceutical Assistance Planning (IAPAF) proposed by the Ministry of Health. Results: Of the 24 items analyzed in the IAPAF, 9 were in stage 1 (worst evaluation), 12 in stage 2 (intermediate performance) and only 3 in stage 3 (situation considered ideal). The programming and storage / distribution / transport stages were the ones that presented the best results (between levels 2 and 3). On the other hand, the prescription was considered the most critical stage of the process (Level 1). Conclusion: The results demonstrate a deficiency in some stages of the planning of FA in Lagarto, and the need to adopt actions that allow a better management of PA, contributing to the population's access to drugs, as well as their rational use.
