In order to characterize the thermal environment for raising dairy cows, in the municipality of Nossa Senhora da Glória/Sergipe, a work was carried out on a commercial property, with 16 Girolando cows. The cows were separated into two paddocks, both with an area of exposure to the sun and shade. The climatic variables of temperature, relative humidity and temperature of the black globe were remotely monitored, using an automated equipment, developed by the Engineering Department of UFS/São Cristóvão. From such data, the temperature and humidity index (ITU) and the globe temperature and humidity index (ITGU) were calculated. These values were then used to compare the ideal conditions of thermal comfort for dairy cattle, according to those suggested by the literature. To analyze the values of the thermal comfort indexes, the individual control chart will be used, which is one of the Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools. The control charts will be prepared using the Minitab 19 program. According to the results obtained for ITGU, only the morning and night periods presented ideal environmental conditions for raising dairy cattle, in the other morning and afternoon periods the animals underwent stress level thermal light to hazardous situation. Regarding the UTI, the values proved to be unsatisfactory in relation to those in the literature.
