Resumo: | This essay presents a series of parameters, which affect the educational world, essential to change a society of information into a society of knowledge. The education renewal supposed to occur as a consequence of this change has a lot to do with the integration of science and technology with society. In a globalize world, science and technology are two universal languages with extreme catalytic importance for a complex whole of processes of social changes. Without them, it is not possible to understand neither the history nor the future. On the other hand, an entirely technological culture will have to be something other than a coherent application of the best technology in each sphere of the human reality. Without a deep reflection upon human dimensions of the new informational and communicational technologies, it will not be possible to understand and control the remarkable role they accomplish nowadays. |

La renovación de la educación que dicho tránsito va a suponer tiene mucho que ver con la integración de la ciencia y la tecnología con la sociedad. En un mundo globalizado, ciencia y tecnología son dos lenguajes universales de extrema importancia catalizadora de un conjunto de procesos de cambio social. Sin ellas no es posible entender ni la historia ni el futuro. Por otro lado, una cultura tecnológica de pleno sentido será algo más que una coherente aplicación de la mejor tecnología en cada ámbito de la realidad humana. Sin una reflexión profunda sobre las dimensiones humanas de las nuevas tecnologías de la información y la comunicación, no sería posible entender y controlar el papel tan profundo que juegan en nuestros días.Neste artigo são expostos uma série de parâmetros que afetam o mundo da educação, essenciais para uma sociedade da informação se transforme numa verdadeira sociedade do conhecimento. A renovação da educação que tal transito vai supor, tem muito que ver com a integração da ciência e da tecnologia com a sociedade. Num mundo globalizado, ciência e tecnologia são duas linguagens universais de extrema importância catalisadora para um conjunto de processos de mudança social. Sem elas, não é possível se entender nem a história, nem o futuro. Por outro lado, uma cultura tecnológica plena deverá ser algo mais do que uma coerente aplicação da melhor tecnologia em cada âmbito da realidade humana.
