Resumo: This article draws a parallel between the lines of communication used in advertising powder soap Omo in two specific periods of time: the years 1957 and 2007, in order to draw the production of meaning of each of the emissions. Considering the contexts in which both campaigns were produced, the development of the study wants to check not only the theoretical components of discourse analysis, on the concepts adopted as described in the book Elements of Discourse Analysis by Jose Luiz Fiorin, but also the practices in relation to certain social characteristics of these periods, and the consequent alignment of advertising manifested with it.

Teniendo en cuenta los contextos en los que se produjeron ambas campañas, el desarrollo del estudio permite comprobar, no sólo el componente teórico del análisis de discurso en los conceptos adoptados, tal como se describe en el libro Elementos de Análisis del Discurso, de José Luiz Fiorin; sino también el componente práctico referente a ciertas características sociales de estos tiempos, y la consecuente alineación del manifiesto publicitario a ellos.Este artigo faz um paralelo entre as linhas de comunicação empregadas na Publicidade do sabão em pó Omo em duas faixas temporais específicas: os anos de 1957 e 2007, para através dele, elaborar o percurso gerativo de sentido de cada uma das emissões.
