Resumo: http://dx.doi.org/10.5007/1807-1384.2014v11n2p162The aim of this work was to identify the social representations about homosexuality among the regular high school students, at a public school in the Baixada Fluminense, outskirt of Rio de Janeiro, according to sexual orientation and gender. We applied a matter of free association of words from the inducing word "GAY" as well as an open question on "What do you think of the same-sex union?” Our data demonstrated a conflicting and undefined belief about being GAY in both sexes, as well as collective speeches about the same-sex union fully accepted by the girls and familiar homophobia, by the boys.

Se aplicó una cuestión de asociación libre de palabras a partir de la palabra inductora "gay", así como una pregunta abierta sobre "¿Qué piensas de la unión homoafectiva". Nuestros datos demuestran una creencia conflictiva e indefinida acerca de ser gay en ambos sexos, así como discursos colectivos sobre la unión homoafectiva plenamente aceptada por las niñas y de homofobia familiar por los chicos.http://dx.doi.org/10.5007/1807-1384.2014v11n2p162O objetivo deste artigo foi identificar as Representações Sociais acerca da homossexualidade entre estudantes do Ensino Médio Regular, em uma escola pública da Baixada Fluminense, no Estado do Rio de Janeiro, segundo a orientação sexual e sexo. Foi aplicada uma questão de associação livre de palavras a partir da palavra indutora “gay”, bem como uma questão aberta sobre “o que você acha da união homoafetiva”.
