This article aims to transcribe and analyze through Palaeography ecclesiastical manuscripts archived in 19th-century House of culture of the Municipality of San Pedro de Alcantara, Santa Catarina State, Brazil. To the achievement of that goal was used the comparative method and document the technical standards for Transcription and editing of manuscripts, as well as the bibliographical research, analyzing the aspects, materials and graphics. It presents a brief historical contextualization of writing, of Palaeography and about the place and time when the manuscripts were produced. Three manuscripts are presented numbered by this author, followed by their transcriptions and analyses. It was necessary to know the historical context in which the document was produced. It is concluded that this research is of paramount importance for the understanding of Paleography and history, retrieving and disseminating information.
