Public Archives in the context of Agenda 2030: case study in the Municipal Public Archive of Vitória:

Resumo: | The contribution of the Municipal Public Archive to strengthen the Sustainable Development Goals proposed by Agenda 2030 constitutes the main theme of this study. The theme is relevant because it highlights the need for involvement of public institutions and their managers, especially at the local level, in ensuring human rights as a strategy for the development of nations. It aims to propose improvements to the Public Archive regarding the proper use of documents, both by managers and by citizens, in order to take advantage of the potential of this body in the context of Agenda 2030, focusing on goal 16, target 16.10. In addition to descriptive, qualitative and bibliographic research, a case study was applied to the Municipal Archive of Vitória, conducted by interview, observation and content analysis. The results obtained revealed the role of archives in implementing the 2030 Agenda proposals, by performing one of the main functions, which is the facilitation of access to information, in a democratic, egalitarian way and without any type of barrier, guaranteeing universal access to information. Therefore, it is concluded that the visibility of the space, the expansion and training of the team and the use of archival and technological tools are the main improvements to be made in the Archive, as provide opportunities to guarantee citizens' rights. |

El tema es relevante por evidenciar la necesidad de la participación de las instituciones públicas y de sus gestores, sobre todo, en el ámbito local, en la garantía de los derechos humanos como estrategia para el desarrollo de las naciones. Tiene como objetivo proponer mejoras al Archivo Público en cuanto al uso adecuado de los documentos, tanto por parte de los gestores como por parte de la ciudadanía, a fin de aprovechar el potencial de este órgano en el contexto de la Agenda 2030, con enfoque en el objetivo 16, meta 16.10. Además de investigación descriptiva, cualitativa y bibliográfica, se aplicó, en el Archivo Municipal de Vitória, un estudio de caso realizado por entrevista, observación y análisis de contenido. Los resultados obtenidos han demostrado el papel de los archivos en la consecución de las propuestas de la Agenda 2030, al ejecutar una de sus principales funciones, que es facilitar el acceso a la información de modo democrático, igualitario y sin cualquier tipo de barrera, garantizando el acceso universal a la información. Por lo tanto, se concluye que la visibilidad del espacio, la ampliación y capacitación del equipo y el uso de instrumentos archivísticos y tecnológicos constituyen las principales mejoras que se pueden realizar en el Archivo, teniendo en cuenta la oportunidad de garantizar los derechos de los ciudadanos.A contribuição do Arquivo Público Municipal para fortalecimento dos Objetivos do Desenvolvimento Sustentável propostos pela Agenda 2030 constitui a temática principal deste estudo. O tema é relevante por evidenciar a necessidade de envolvimento das instituições públicas e de seus gestores, sobretudo, no âmbito local, na garantia de direitos humanos como estratégia para o desenvolvimento das nações. Objetiva propor melhorias ao Arquivo Público quanto ao uso adequado dos documentos, tanto pelos gestores, quanto pelos munícipes, de modo a aproveitar o potencial desse órgão no contexto da Agenda 2030, com foco no objetivo 16, meta 16.10. Além de pesquisa descritiva, qualitativa e bibliográfica, aplicou-se estudo de caso no Arquivo Municipal de Vitória, conduzido por entrevista, observação e análise de conteúdo. Os resultados alcançados revelaram o papel dos arquivos na concretização das propostas da Agenda 2030, ao executar uma das principais funções, que é a facilitação do acesso à informação, de modo democrático, igualitário e sem qualquer tipo de barreira, garantindo o acesso universal à informação. Portanto, conclui-se que a visibilidade do espaço, a ampliação e capacitação da equipe e o uso de instrumentos arquivísticos e tecnológicos constituem as principais melhorias a serem realizadas no Arquivo, haja vista oportunizar a garantia de direitos dos cidadãos.
