Archivistic description of the documentary sources of the Apostolic Visit Of Pope John Paul II (Saint) to Florianópolis

Resumo: The Ecclesiastical Archives are information sources and are part of the history of humanity. It presents the evolution of ecclesiastical archives and the pertinent regulations to carry out the archival description. The objective of the investigation was to analyze if there is a technical and archival treatment in the documentary sources of the Apostolic Visit of Pope John Paul II (Saint) at Florianópolis (Santa Catarina State). The bibliographic method was used, it´s an exploratory and descriptive study . The archives that had documents related to the visit of John Paul II were analyzed, the state of preservation and preparation of the documentation was analyzed, and the archival description was elaborated. The collection is preserved by the Ecclesiastical Historical Archive of Santa Catarina. Contains documents from the first negotiations in 1989 until the end of the work for the event in November 1991. It was verified that the data obtained were registered in CONARQ and in the World Memory Project, with the archival description of the documentary fund of John Paul II.

Apresenta-se a evolução dos arquivos eclesiásticos e as normativas pertinentes para realizar a descrição arquivística. O objetivo da investigação foi analisar se há tratamento técnico e arquivístico nas fontes documentais da Visita Apostólica do Papa João Paulo II (santo) a Florianópolis. Utilizou-se o método bibliográfico, exploratório e descritivo. Foi realizado, no ano de 2016, o mapeamento dos arquivos que possuíam documentos relacionados à visita de João Paulo II, analisado o estado de preservação e acondicionamento da documentação e elaborado a descrição arquivística. O acervo conservado e preservado pelo Arquivo Histórico Eclesiástico de Santa Catarina contém documentos desde as primeiras tratativas em 1989 até o fim dos trabalhos para o evento em novembro de 1991.
