Structuring questions in inquiry based science education: a proposal for scientific literacy

Resumo: Studies highlight Inquiry Based Science Education (IBSE) to increase student protagonism in science classes, and stress the need to improve it is emphasized, including studying the questions in the classroom. Therefore, the objective of this work is to analyze the structuring of questions of students of the Early Years of Elementary Education aiming at Sientific Literacy in the context of IBSE. In the methodological path, we used the Bakhtinian perspective to analyze student’s questions in a class inserted in an Investigative Teaching Sequence (ITS). As a result, we highlight a classification of questions that can enhance the investigation in science teaching. In addition, encouraging students to ask their own questions, whether with reading, speaking or writing, favors their curiosity providing greater interactions with each other and understanding that learning to ask is deeply related to the skills developed in the context of IBSE. This favors an understanding of the world essential for investigating problems and increase criticality.

Por isso, o objetivo deste trabalho é analisar a estruturação de perguntas dos estudantes dos Anos Iniciais do Ensino Fundamental visando a Alfabetização Científica no contexto do ENCI. No percurso metodológico, utilizamos a perspectiva bakhtiniana para analisar perguntas dos estudantes em uma aula inserida de uma Sequência de Ensino Investigativo (SEI). Como resultados, destacamos uma classificação de perguntas que pode potencializar a investigação no ensino de Ciências. Além disso, o fomento aos estudantes para elaborarem suas próprias perguntas, seja com a leitura, a oralidade ou a escrita, favorece sua curiosidade, proporcionando maiores interações entre si e compreendendo que aprender a perguntar está profundamente relacionado com as habilidades desenvolvidas no contexto do ENCI.
