Didactic potentials of manipulation of the number scale (1623) for the formation of the mathematics student

Resumo: With the intention of articulating the history and teaching of mathematics through an interface between these two fields, the treatise The description and vse of the Sector, the Crosse-staffe, and other instruments, for such as are studious of Mathematicall practice, specifically, selecting it as a resource the scale of numbers inscribed in the Cross-staff presented in this document. Considering the construction of an interface and the Theory of Objectification (TO) for the elaboration of an activity involving the scale of numbers, we sought to discuss the mathematical aspects that can be potentially didactic, which emerge from the problems of a task that deals with the regarding the manipulation of the scale of numbers to obtain a proportional average, characterizing the research as documentary. A study was carried out based on the mathematical issues involved in the use of the scale to find a proportional average given two numbers and from the task some didactic possibilities aimed at teacher training were highlighted. It was concluded that the task provides the teaching of logarithm, geometric progression and geometric constructions, being able to make possible an autonomy of the future teacher to approach these subjects in different ways in the classroom.

Considerando a construção de interface e a Teoria da Objetivação (TO) para a elaboração de uma atividade envolvendo a escala dos números, buscou-se discutir os aspectos matemáticos que podem ser potencialmente didáticos, que emergem a partir dos problemas de uma tarefa que trata a respeito da manipulação da escala dos números para obter-se uma média proporcional, caracterizando a pesquisa como documental. Foi feito um estudo pautado nas questões matemáticas envoltas no uso da escala para encontrar uma média proporcional dados dois números e, através da tarefa, destacaram-se algumas potencialidades didáticas direcionadas para a formação de professores.
