Teacher education perspectives of the biological sciences graduation at the Federal University of Santa Catarina: between collective thought and circulation of ideas

Resumo: The investigation identifies and discusses the teacher education in the day course of the Biological Sciences Graduation at the Federal University of Santa Catarina and, for that, we use the teacher education programs proposed by Pérez-Gómez and the Fleckian categories (thought style, collective thought and circulation of ideas). The methodology used was documental analysis of the curricular matrix, the programs of compulsory subjects and the analysis of questionnaires answered by the teachers. The results show the presence of two educational perspectives: academic, which corresponds to ¾ of the subjects, and practice, which is related to approximately ¼ of the subjects. The analysis of the teachers´responses allows us to identify four groups of thought in the course: academic, academic-technical, technical-practical and technical. By analyzing the results, we make considerations about the education and possible professional performance of the graduates, in addition we discuss the inevitable coexistence of styles of thought that were identified.

A metodologia utilizada foi análise documental da matriz curricular e dos programas das disciplinas obrigatórias, além de análise de questionários respondidos por professores formadores. Os resultados mostram a presença de duas perspectivas de formação presentes no currículo: acadêmica, que engloba ¾ das disciplinas; e prática com aproximadamente ¼ das disciplinas. A análise das respostas de docentes formadores permite identificar quatro coletivos de pensamento no curso: acadêmico, acadêmico-técnico, técnico-prático e técnico.
