Argumentative semantics and meaning relations: the argumentative value of the expression “cidadão de bem”

Resumo: This article aims to analyze the discursive functioning of the expression "cidadão de bem" in two different utterances, based on argumentative semantics. The search for the meaning and the argumentative value of this expression will be made on the basis of the theoretical considerations of the Language Argumentation Theory, especially the third phase, the theoretical model of semantic blocks, from Carel and Ducrot (2005). For this, the study analyzes two utterances with the expression "cidadão de bem", from a Armandinho comic strip and from a statement by deputy Rogério Peninha Mendonça. A methodological course is proposed to highlight the argumentative threads and to construct the semantic blocks. Based on the results found, it is observed that the argumentative value found in each use of the expression “cidadão de bem” allows different constructions of meaning and pre-existing argumentative possibilities in the language.

La búsqueda del significado y el valor argumentativo de esta expresión se basará en las consideraciones teóricas de la Teoría de la Argumentación en el Lenguaje, especialmente en la tercera fase, la Teoría de los Bloques Semánticos, de Carel y Ducrot (2005). Para ello, el estudio analiza dos declaraciones con la expresión “cidadão de bem”, una extraída de una tira cómica del personaje Armandinho y la otra de una declaración del diputado Rogério Peninha Mendonça. Se propone un camino metodológico para resaltar las cadenas argumentativas y construir los bloques. Con base en los resultados encontrados, se observa que el valor argumentativo encontrado en cada uso de la expresión “cidadão de bem” permite diferentes construcciones de significado y posibilidades argumentativas preexistentes en el propio lenguaje..Este trabalho tem como objetivo analisar o funcionamento discursivo da expressão “cidadão de bem” em dois enunciados diferentes, com base na semântica argumentativa. A busca do sentido e do valor argumentativo dessa expressão será feita com base nas considerações teóricas da Teoria da Argumentação na Língua, especialmente da terceira fase, a Teoria dos Blocos Semânticos, de Carel e Ducrot (2005). Para isso, o estudo analisa dois enunciados com a expressão “cidadão de bem”, um retirado de uma tirinha do personagem Armandinho e o outro de uma declaração do deputado Rogério Peninha Mendonça. Propõe-se um percurso metodológico para evidenciar os encadeamentos argumentativos e construir os blocos.
