Discourse relations and interaction: the articulation of verbal and non-verbal languages in the context of professional training

Resumo: In this paper, we focus on the phenomenon of the articulation of text constituents in actions in the context of professional training, to show that, in this context, this articulation is part of the interactional competence of the interlocutors (trainers and apprentices). For this, we seek contributions from the Geneva approach to the study of discourse organization. This approach allows an adequate approximation of such phenomenon, which involves interactional, multimodal and cognitive aspects. In this study, we analyzed sequences of interactions that took place in a masonry workshop, in which the trainer and three apprentice electricians participated. The interactions took place in 2005, in the canton of Geneva, Switzerland, and were produced in French. The analyzes showed that, in the context of professional training, discourse relations, such as reformulation, argument and counter-argument, allow interlocutors (trainers and apprentices) to articulate text constituents (acts and interventions) in actions. Acting in this way, apprentices and trainer actively collaborate in the training process.

Para ello, nos valemos de las contribuciones de la teoría de Ginebra para el estudio de la organización del discurso, ya que esta teoría permite una adecuada aproximación a dicho fenómeno, que involucra aspectos interaccionales, multimodales y cognitivos. En este estudio analizamos secuencias de interacciones que tuvieron lugar en un taller de albañilería, en las que participaron el formador y tres aprendices electricistas. Las interacciones tuvieron lugar en 2005, en el cantón de Ginebra, Suiza, y fueron producidas en francés. Los análisis mostraron que, en el contexto de la formación profesional, las relaciones de discurso, como reformulación, argumentación y contraargumentación, permiten a los interlocutores (formadores y aprendices) articular constituyentes del texto (actos e intervenciones) en acciones. Actuando de esta manera, tanto los aprendices como el formador colaboran en el proceso en el que se desarrollan las actividades formativas.Neste trabalho, focalizamos o fenômeno da articulação de constituintes do texto em ações no contexto da formação profissional. Para isso, valemo-nos de contribuições da abordagem genebrina para o estudo da organização do discurso, por permitir uma adequada aproximação de tal fenômeno, que envolve aspectos interacionais, multimodais e cognitivos. Neste estudo, analisamos interações ocorridas em uma oficina de alvenaria, das quais participaram o formador e três aprendizes eletricistas. As interações ocorreram no ano de 2005, no cantão de Genebra, Suíça, e foram produzidas em francês. As análises evidenciaram que, no contexto da formação profissional, as relações de discurso, como reformulação, argumento e contra-argumento, permitem aos interlocutores (formadores e aprendizes) articularem constituintes do texto (atos e intervenções) em ações.
