Resumo: The informational core of images, together with global connectivity, introduce a new set of practices that, in addition to formal and discursive derivations, produce a network effect. These possibilities of transcoding, aggregation and flow, are embedded in several domains of society, including visual studies’ methodologies. Driven by concepts and examples, which combine art, science and technology, the article addresses how digital mediation, based on computer systems and artificial intelligence applied as techniques for cognitive and aesthetic amplification, consolidate the contemporary visuality regime, as a product of the synergy between the human and artificial vision. This study is part of the doctoral research in multimedia art, towards the development of a participatory model of visualization of collective memories.

This study is part of the doctoral research in multimedia art, towards the development of a participatory model of visualization of collective memories.O substrato informacional das imagens digitais, a par da conectividade global, introduz novas dinâmicas que, além de derivações formais e discursivas, evocam um efeito de rede.
