Reflections on the deaf identity and linguistic accessibility in the Letras Libras course at the Teacher Training Center of the Federal University of Recôncavo from Bahia

Resumo: Our aim with this research is to analyze the linguistic accessibility in the school trajectory of the deaf student, and understand the challenges of their learning process in higher education. A qualitative methodological approach was used, analyzed through a semi-structured interview with two deaf students of the Licentiate in Language course,with qualifcation in Libras, from the Teacher Training Center of the Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia – CFP/UFRB. We dialogue with authors such as Laraia (2001), Gadoti (1998), Perlin (1998), Quadros (1997), Freire (1979), Strobel (2008) and others. Te discussions carried out in this work will make it possible to problematize and re-signify higher education for the deaf people in academic community.

Foi utilizada uma abordagem metodológica qualitativa, analisada por meio de entrevista semiestruturada com dois alunos surdos do curso de licenciatura em Letras, com habilitação em Libras, do Centro de Formação de Professores da Universidade Federal do Recôncavo da Bahia – CFP/UFRB. Dialogamos com autores como Laraia (2001), Gadotti (1998), Perlin (1998), Quadros (1997), Freire (1979), Strobel (2008) e outros.
