Resumo: Communities of practice are collaborative learning environments used in training and professional development in Physical Education.. Thus, the aim of this study is to analyze the development of a community of practice for the professional learning of swimming teachers. To this end, a qualitative, descriptive , and case study research was carried out. Two swimming teachers and a facilitating teacher participated in the study. As instruments of data collection, were used: reflective writing, recordings of the meetings, focus group interview, and audio and text messages in WhatsApp group. The qualitative analysis of the data was through the technique of content analysis. The results show that the way in which the interactions between the members occurred, the definition of challenges and the construction of strategies characterize this group of teachers as a community of practice at an early  stage.

El objetivo de este estudio fue analizar el desarrollo de una comunidad de práctica para el aprendizaje profesional de los profesores de natación. Se adoptó una investigación cualitativa, de carácter descriptivo y estudio de caso. En el estudio participaron dos profesores de natación y un profesor facilitador. Como instrumentos de recolección de datos, se utilizaron: escritura reflexiva, grabaciones de las reuniones, entrevista de grupo focal y mensajes de audio y texto en grupo de WhatsApp. El análisis cualitativo se realizó mediante la técnica de análisis de contenido.Los resultados muestran que la forma en que ocurrieron las interacciones entre los miembros, la definición de desafíos y la construcción de estrategias caracterizan a este grupo de docentes como una comunidad de práctica en una etapa temprana.As comunidades de prática são ambientes de aprendizagem colaborativos utilizadas na formação e no desenvolvimento profissional em Educação Física. Dessa forma, o objetivo desse estudo foi analisar o desenvolvimento de uma comunidade de prática para a aprendizagem profissional de professores de natação. Adotou-se procedimentos de pesquisa qualitativa, de caráter descritivo e estudo de caso. Participaram do estudo, duas professoras de natação e um professor facilitador. Como instrumentos de coleta de dados, foram utilizados: escrita reflexiva, gravações dos encontros, entrevista em grupo focal, e mensagens de áudio e de texto em grupo de WhatsApp. A análise qualitativa dos dados ocorreu por meio da técnica de análise de conteúdo.
