Brazil and the sport mega-events: the subsidies from Foreign Policy

Resumo: The context of hosting sport hallmark events and mega-events in Brazil points to the necessity of expanding the notion of politics that would subsidedebates and analysis. Particularly, we understand that the Foreign Policy might aggregate concepts and understandings to study the sport mega-events, considering its international character. Therefore, we described the international system in the 21st century to contextualize the Brazilian Foreign Policy agenda during the Lula government. Then, we relate this agenda to the 2016 Olympic and Paralympics bid. This process opens the possibilities and interpretations for the studies that aim to analyze the government involvement in these events.

This process opens the possibilities and interpretations for the studies that aim to analyze the government involvement in these events.  El contexto de realización de grande y mega eventos deportivos en Brasil apunta hacia la necesidad de una expansión en la percepción de las áreas de la política sensibles de subsidio a las discusiones y análisis de esa relación. Específicamente, entendemos que la Política Externa puede agregar conceptos y comprensiones a la lectura de los mega eventos deportivos, cundo consideramos su carácter internacional. Así, describimos al sistema internacional del siglo XXI para contextualizar la agenda de Política Externa brasileña en el Gobierno Lula, realizando algunas relaciones entre esa agenda y la candidatura a los Juegos Olímpicos  y Paralímpicos de 2016. Eso nos abre posibilidades e interpretaciones para los estudios de la implicación gubernamental en esos eventos. O contexto de realização de grandes e megaeventos esportivos no Brasil aponta para a necessidade de uma expansão na percepção das áreas da política passíveis de subsídio às discussões e análises dessa relação. Especificamente, entendemos que a Política Externa pode agregar conceitos e entendimentos à leitura dos megaeventos esportivos, quando consideramos seu caráter internacional. Assim, descrevemos o sistema internacional no século XXI para contextualizar a agenda de Política Externa brasileira no Governo Lula, realizando algumas relações entre essa agenda e a candidatura aos Jogos Olímpicos e Paralímpicos de 2016.
