Itineraries and Challenges Regarding Children's Participation in Physical Education Teacher’s Continuing Education

Resumo: In recent decades, continuing education for teachers has been the subject of discussion and analysis. In addition to these issues, more and an increasing number of studies are being consolidated that point to a look at childhood from the reading that children themselves construct about their daily lives. This paper aimed to assemble and provide reflections circumscribed to the challenge of contributing to continuing education in accordance to the Sociology of Childhood. The methodological approach adopted is qualitative and propositional in character, including a non-systematic bibliographic review and consolidated actions from the continuing education of physical education teachers from Jundiaí, São Paulo, with the participation of children. By announcing that there is little space and time to play at school, it is urgent that we consider educational policies that establish goals to ensure playtime and also criteria to define the quality of these moments for children at kindergartens, pre-schools and schools.

Somadas à estas questões, consolidam-se cada vez mais estudos que apontam para um olhar a respeito da infância a partir da leitura que as próprias crianças constroem sobre seus cotidianos. Este trabalho teve como objetivo reunir e apresentar reflexões circunscritas no desafio de contribuir com a formação continuada à luz da Sociologia da Infância. O percurso metodológico adotado é de natureza qualitativa e propositiva, incluindo-se revisão bibliográfica não sistemática e ações consolidadas a partir da formação continuada de professores de educação física da Prefeitura Municipal de Jundiaí, São Paulo, com a participação das crianças.
