“ONLY WHO IS A FAN UNDERSTAND”: AN ANALYSIS OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF MEANINGS ABOUT “BEING A FAN” FROM THE NARRATIVES OF INDIVIDUALS BELONGING TO THE FANDOM ARMY

Resumo: In this qualitative research, we aim to present the constructions made by 11 individuals belonging to the ARMY fandom about the meanings of “being a fan” present in their experiences. Through the analysis of semi-structured interviews, we obtained three categories that translated their representations: Affections, Transformation and Identification. We noticed that the speeches indicate a group support by the affections that unite it, being related to both the fandom and the artist. Thus, there is a feeling of belonging and reception, which permeates the identifications between individuals, constituting what we know as a community and develops to social transformation.

Mediante la realización y análisis de entrevistas semiestructuradas, obtuvimos tres categorías que traducen sus representaciones: Afectos, Transformación e Identificación. Notamos que las declaraciones indican apoyo a estos individuos del grupo por los afectos que comparten, estando relacionados tanto con el fandom como con el artista. Así, existe un sentimiento de pertenencia y acogida, que permea las identificaciones entre los individuos, constituyendo lo que conocemos como comunidad y que se desarrolla a través de la transformación social.Nesta pesquisa, de caráter qualitativo, objetivamos apresentar as construções feitas por 11 sujeitos pertencentes ao fandom ARMY sobre os significados do “ser fã” presentes em suas vivências. Através da realização e análise de entrevistas semiestruturadas, obtivemos três categorias que traduziram suas representações: Afetos, Transformação e Identificação. Percebemos que as falas indicam um apoio desses sujeitos no grupo pelos afetos que os une, estando relacionados tanto ao fandom quanto ao artista.
