Resumo: | The movies Orpheu do carnaval (1958), of Marcel Camus, and O mandarim (1995), of Julio Bressane, are focuses this article. Starting from the question "To what extent does the audiovisual can contribute to understanding from birth of Bossa Nova and helps preserve your memory como reinvention of samba ?", we aim to unveil the way the works in the historical layout insert of carioca movement and how the ancestry of Orpheus is evident. For this we follow a theoretical-exploratory methodology, concluding that the works function as an important place of memory (NORA, 1993) the rhythm that still enchants the whole world. |

Partindo da pergunta “Até que ponto o audiovisual pode contribuir para a compreensão do surgimento da Bossa Nova e ajuda a preservar sua memória como reinvenção do samba?”, objetivamos desvelar como as obras inserem-se no traçado histórico do movimento carioca e como a ascendência de Orfeu se evidencia.
