To describe the epidemiological profile and its related aspects of trauma patients admitted to a public hospital in Florianópolis. METHODS: This is a descriptive, crosssectional, retrospective study with a quantitative approach, carried out from the analysis of medical records of these patients at the Hospital Governador Celso Ramos (HGCR) in the orthopedics sector, from the period between July 2019 and February 2020. RESULTS: A total of 225 medical records were analyzed, in which there was a predominance of males (71.1%), with a mean age of 43.01 years, with no reported comorbidities (63.5%). The month with the highest number of admitted patients was January (19.6%); the day of the week with the highest number was Wednesdays (19.6%); and the time of day with the highest number was between 8 pm and 9 pm (n=21). The main cause of trauma was due to collisions between motorcycle and car (23.6%). The most frequent type of injury was closed fracture, occurring in 71.6% of the patients. Of the 296 affected regions, 23.6% occurred in the legs. The main outcome after the first admission was hospitalization (93.3%). Regarding imaging exams, plain radiography was requested for 97.3% of the patients. Definitive osteosynthesis was the procedure performed in most patients (41.7%). The mean length of hospital stay from admission to surgery was 5.6 days and the mean total length of hospital stay was 10.2 days. The need for admission to the intensive care unit (ICU) occurred in 10.2% of the patients, with a mean length of stay of 8.9 days. The outcomes of patients who were hospitalized was mostly hospital discharge (87.1%). CONCLUSION: The study described trauma-related data at the HGCR, evidencing two types of patient profile according to the type of trauma. Motorcycle accidents mainly affected men, aged under 38 years and traumas due to falling from their own height affected mainly women aged over 60 years.Florianópolis, SCperfil, epidemiologia, trauma, ortopedia, acidentesEstudo epidemiológico e aspectos do trauma ortopédico em um hospital público de Florianópolisinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessporreponame:Repositório Institucional da UFSCinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC)instacron:UFSCLICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain; charset=utf-81383https://repositorio.ufsc.br/bitstream/123456789/230150/2/license.txt11ee89cd31d893362820eab7c4d46734MD52ORIGINALtcc - versão 4 final.pdftcc - versão 4 final.pdfTCCapplication/pdf428074https://repositorio.ufsc.br/bitstream/123456789/230150/1/tcc%20-%20vers%c3%a3o%204%20final.pdf9240fc338638a084ba701416b1f64da9MD51123456789/2301502021-12-01 15:24:02.306oai:repositorio.ufsc.br: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ório de PublicaçõesPUBhttp://150.162.242.35/oai/requestopendoar:23732021-12-01T18:24:02Repositório Institucional da UFSC - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC)false
