Resumo: The use of glass walls has become a trend of use in current projects due to its sophistication and modernity. Surrounding the buildings with glass has become synonymous with safety due to the transparency of the material, and beautification, also due to the transparency that allows the user and transient direct visual contact with the available green areas. However, problems related to the implementation of the system have been verified in some buildings over time. The natural ventilation of the fenced area becomes impaired, as well as part of the precipitation that is intercepted by the wall. Due to the transparency of the material, birds collide in the glass and end up dying, which causes a negative interference in the local fauna. As a consequence of the negative effects inferred it became pertinent a study in buildings where glass walls were implanted, using as base, real estate located in the city of Ijuí, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The research was based on the evaluation of users of buildings of glass walls and applied through a questionnaire, aiming to see the degree of satisfaction of the same regarding the system under study. The pertinence of the study, besides the previously mentioned purposes, is in the absence of bibliographical material referring to the central theme of this article, the glass walls and the user perception.
