Resumo: | Pavement structures are most often subject to dynamic loads resulting from various combinations of loads resulting from vehicles and different environmental conditions. The performance of asphalt concrete in terms of linear viscoelastic behavior can be predicted using the stress-strain behavior that can be defined by the complex module. Among the most modern options for obtaining it, there are four-point flexion tests. In this context, the work assesses the technical feasibility of using commercial graphite in road pavement layers. For this, two asphalt mixtures were produced, one made with Portland cement, coded by CA-REF and the other produced with commercial graphite (CA-GRAFP). To achieve the objective of this research, the asphalt compositions were submitted to the four point flexion test to obtain the complex module and the phase angle. The adopted methodology followed the recommendations of the European standard EN 12697-26, with application of uniaxial sinusoidal compression loading and deformation amplitude of 50μm / m, frequencies from 0.1 to 20Hz and temperatures from 0 to 40 ° C, with increments of 5 at 5 ° C. The research results showed that the CA-GRAFP presented complex modules superior to the CA-REF. In addition, it was possible to observe lower values of the phase angles for the CA-GRAFP composition. The results obtained in this study point to the feasibility of using graphite as a material applicable to road pavements. |

The results obtained in this study point to the feasibility of using graphite as a material applicable to road pavements.
