Pedagogia.O presente estudo tem como propósito compreender que tensões estabelecem-se entre o discurso educacional corrente sobre um ensino [de matemática] “significativo” - em geral, identificado como aquele que envolve experiências da vida real e conhecimentos prévios dos alunos para o desenvolvimento de conhecimentos escolares - e os ditos sobre as práticas escolares dos professores. Com base em questionários respondidos por dezoito professores da rede municipal de Florianópolis que atuam no 5º ano do Ensino Fundamental, buscou-se indicativos de como vem acontecendo o ensino de matemática para perceber se o discurso sobre um ensino significativo atravessa ideias, modos de pensar a aprendizagem e concepções dos docentes. A questão que se coloca, portanto, para este estudo é: As respostas dos professores entrevistados atravessam e são atravessadas por tal discurso, guiando concepções e caminhos metodológicos para o ensino da matemática nos anos iniciais na contemporaneidade? A partir da análise, segundo as falas dos professores, percebem-se aproximações, ecos e distanciamentos que compactuam e percorrem os caminhos de tal verdade. Mas também, percebem-se tensões, que muito mais do que se situarem nos discursos obrigatórios da legislação, provavelmente moldando falas ou os ditos dos professores, remetem a pensar em desafios na formação docente.The present study aims to comprehend that there are tensions established between the current educational discourse about the "meaningful teaching" [mathematics] - in general, identified as one that involves real life experiences and previous knowledge of the students in the development of school knowledge - and what is been saying about the teachers’ practices – and the discourse about teachers' school practices. Based on questionnaires answered by eighteen teachers of municipal schools in Florianopolis, who work in the 5th grade of elementary school, it was attempted to search for indicatives of how the mathematics teaching has been happening, to realize if the discourse about meaningful teaching crosses ideas and ways of thinking the learning process and conceptions of the teachers. The question that arises for this study is: the teachers' answers pass through and are crossed by such discourse, guiding concepts and methodological approaches to the teaching of mathematics in the initial years in contemporary days? From the analysis, according to the statements of the teachers, it is perceived approaches, echoes and distances that condescend and walk along the paths of this truth.
